I was referring to the shiny scalp and hoping you are applying adequate amounts of teet balm over that dome to protect it from winter's chilling frost.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15329279.post-79838259976703602782008-12-04T10:37:00.000-07:002008-12-04T10:37:00.000-07:00Nah, I don't have the body for that anymore! :PNah, I don't have the body for that anymore! :PJackrabit1https://www.blogger.com/profile/15819146935849889760noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15329279.post-20463298484194762632008-12-04T06:57:00.000-07:002008-12-04T06:57:00.000-07:00Jackrabit1:Remember, the same way the Argus hires ...Jackrabit1:

Remember, the same way the Argus hires individual article writers like Madison's Alan VanOrmer so they don't have to pay salaries and benefits, someone could easily propose to Three Eagles that a group of sports announcers would do a certain number of games for Three Eagles' local markets for a fee, saving the corporation any benefit or retirement costs...And you know corporations these days...Cut, Cut, Cut. You could always get a job as Uncle Fester's fill-in. They've done a great job every time. It's sort of cool because, while I'm working at 1:00 a.m., it's the middle of their work day, so we can communicate by e-mail almost as if it were in real time.

Now a few people in Noida, India, know a little bit about the Black Hills and our four-foot May blizzards that they might otherwise never have dreamed about (they express envy)! And they know about at least one of the weirdos who live there, too.

The downside is, of course, that a wonderful Stateside compositor was "bumped" by the publisher because the one in India is cheaper. Just one more skilled, aging American sole proprietor, thrown to the wind. Should I be next, I'll literally outsource myself, although in light of recent events in India, that might not be the best place. One time, the person I was working with told me about how she went to "the city" (presumably New Delhi) over the weekend and missed being in the middle of a suicide bomb attack at a mall by 30 minutes.

I can see the book on the shelves now: How to Outsource Yourself in the New Global Economy.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15329279.post-1519877879521521412008-12-01T12:04:00.000-07:002008-12-01T12:04:00.000-07:00My first reaction is different. Granted a lot of writing should be done with direct knowledge, but it's kind of neat that the global reach can allow this much information to pass, especially about numerically small South Dakota. And think of those overseas writers learning about SD, talking with their family and friends about life here. That's one more little way that people learn and bind together. jhAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15329279.post-11381394161782597122008-12-01T06:35:00.000-07:002008-12-01T06:35:00.000-07:00So "Lowell" of Badlands Blue is from Virginia!! Guess the Dems wasted their money with him/her anyway as hardly anyone ever posted comments there, i.e. it was a very poor blog anyway. So much for honesty, one of SD's values it was supposedly promoting!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
