That difference alone will make a significant difference in housing, retail, schools. Lower population numbers too that may not rebound without more jobs although DSU is at a high of over 3,100.JohnSDhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01232529806415462712noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15329279.post-28531530358870381162010-10-28T15:23:08.455-06:002010-10-28T15:23:08.455-06:00That, Frank, is a very good question. DSU got back into session, so we may have some more jobs on campus (too bad these numbers don't tell us how many of the jobs are full time or pay benefits or have wages above minimum). Other guesses?caheidelbergerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03261598066395322681noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15329279.post-19412453971468774562010-10-28T08:32:08.934-06:002010-10-28T08:32:08.934-06:00I may be a small picture guy but where did the new...I may be a small picture guy but where did the new jobs come from?Frank Jamesnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15329279.post-43683195813581069242010-10-27T22:27:57.616-06:002010-10-27T22:27:57.616-06:00Oops... except for that slice. The May employment numbers ...Any way you slice it? The May employment numbers were 6,740 with a 4.7% unemployment rate. Now they're 6,590 at 4.3%. So did we loose residents and/or job seekers? With the way they track unemployment it is difficult to say, but I've never seen so many houses for rent in the newspaper so call me skeptical, at least for the time being.JohnSDhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01232529806415462712noreply@blogger.com
