Big news on Madison's literary front: participatory historian and Thune staffer Jon Lauck will be signing copies of his book, Daschle vs. Thune: Anatomy of a High-Plains Senate Race, right here in Madison, the capital of controversial commentary. Madison's own Books and More will host Lauck and his political pen on Saturday, November 24th, from 1 to 2 p.m.
Odds are my left-leaning readers are thinking, "I don't need to go see Jon; I'll get enough turkey on Thanksgiving." But hey! You'll need your exercise: jog downtown to see Jon and grill him about his boss. Or just come down, say hi, and congratulate a Bulldog debate alumnus on his literary success.
If you just can't wait to get your copy, you can always order online. But what's the fun in that, when you can buy straight from the author's hometown -- gotta be some collector's value in that! -- and kick in some sales tax dollars for the Madison Comprehensive Plan? Forget shopping in Sioux Falls that day -- it'll be a zoo! Come to Madison instead, November 24. Get a book, get a Blizzard, enjoy the weekend!

So a friend of mine made this rap a few years back, and I have to tell you
I have friends over the years who went there and tell the same boring
stories, LOL.
