Wind Power: Think Small, Think Local

Little blip from KJAM this morning: Northwestern Energy is hoping to add wind power to their electric supplies. Key quote: "Spokesman Tom Glanzer... says they expect the wind power project to be built close to their service areas."

See? Wind power doesn't have to create an export product. Think small, think local! Build a wind turbine, and power the school right next to the wind turbine. Build a wind farm, power the town right next to the wind farm. It's like planting a garden and feeding your family and neighbors with it. The less dependent we are on foreign countries or even out-of-state producers for our power, our food, our building materials, the more control we have over our destiny. Read your Kirkpatrick Sale (Human Scale!) -- think local self-sufficiency!
