Stimulus Package Getting Bad Reviews Locally

Looks like our local pundits are lining up in opposition to the stimulus package along with yours truly. SD Watch sees the pending handouts as nothing more than government bribing us with our own money. And our man Hunter at MDL weighs in on the stimulus package as well, branding it an "ironic" effort to solve our borrowing problems with more borrowing. Actually, Jon, a better term might be"paradoxical," or, per Robert Reich, "silly."

Note that Todd, Jon, I, and probably every other naysayer you can find has stated explicitly that we will indeed cash those checks when they come. But wouldn't it be interesting if the government would listen to the voters out here on both sides of the aisle (liberal media Jon Hunter's paper is not) and say, "Forget the stimulus package. We've made our fiscal bed; now let's lie in it."
