Senator Clinton dismisses the "elite opinion" of economists who say the Clinton-McCain gas tax holiday is a rotten idea. That includes elite economists like Robert Reich, whom her husband hired as Labor Secretary before she decided she needed to pander to the working class by talking like a Republican and denigrating expert advice.
Meanwhile Obama speaks of his far-from-elite background, growing up the child of a single mother who had to go on food stamps at times but still scrimped and saved to get her kids a good education.
So what's the difference between Clinton and Obama? As Obama himself says, "Politics didn't lead me to working people; working people led me to politics."
