Madison School Board Vacancy: At Least One Applicant

We all know what a school board election looks like, but what about a school board application? Maybe something like this:

In the interest of government transparency, I'm happy to post here a facsimile of the application I submitted earlier this afternoon for the board to consider at tonight's meeting.

A couple weeks ago, the school district called for applicants for Gwen Thomson's soon-to-be vacant seat. If anyone other citizens have taken out or filed applications for the one-year appointment, they're keeping it quiet.

Has anyone else thrown in? We'll find out soon enough. In the meantime, if there are any other applicants for this public office, I'll be happy to post your applications here so the constituents can compare and evaluate the board's appointment decision.

Update 20:15 CDT: This is odd: the original MDL story on the board application process says "The current school board members decided to advertise for applicants during a special meeting Tuesday night." But as I review the minutes from the board's May 27 special meeting, I find no mention of the board's decision to carry out an application process for filling the vacant seat. Hmm... just when was this process decided, and by whom?
