Memo to Dykstra campaign staff: remember to take those campaign buttons and t-shirts off before you go to the airport. Here's a campaign graphic that won't make it past security:
Wow—now that's bang for the marketing buck!
If you think that's cool, contribute $100, and you get a genuine Taliban suicide bomber belt to break down the barriers of business as usual at your office. $1000 gets your kids the top bunk at the next big GOP madrassa.
Next up: Jimmie Walker joins the Dykstra campaign staff... and Dykstra announces new litmus test for Supreme Court nominees: must include TNT on list of arms covered by Second Amendment.
I'm joking, really... but again, campaign staffers, don't try that excuse with TSA at Joe Foss Field.

So a friend of mine made this rap a few years back, and I have to tell you
I have friends over the years who went there and tell the same boring
stories, LOL.

Joel Dykstra must really be tone deaf. What a misguided image to put on your web site.
ReplyDeleteGet a clue Joel!
Joel Dykstra would have been better off to use a Swiffer to sweep away status quo, rather than such a harsh symbol of violence. Not smart marketing.
ReplyDeleteso is my 25 bucks going to get him elected or to buy dynamite? Also, couldn't this be considered terrostic threats towards all the people in washington? Maybe, I will have to do my civic duty and report his website to Homeland Security (aka the shadow government).
ReplyDeleteDykstra's Broom Brigade would have been a lot better. You know, sweep out all the bugs ... and an image of a broom with a bunch of cockroaches crawling around on the floor.
ReplyDeleteWho would be the broom-handler? Who would be the cockroaches? Open questions.
Why do my fellow Republicans keep making gaffes like this? And why do some of them (I mean, us) insist on coming up with silly terms like "Shadow Government" (better to have been "Backup Government"), "Shock and Awe" (better to have been "Shock and Dismay"), and on and on and on ...
Well, maybe it's the same thing that led some to invent the term "General Betray Us" or (years ago) "How the Gingrich Stole Christmas." Egad, my sisters and I could have thought those things up in seventh grade.
Your use of the word madrassa here is offensive, Cory. Ranks up there with Johnson's famous use of Taliban Republicans. If you truly want respect from conservatives, please don't do this.
ReplyDeleteNonnie
Nonnie, you sound uncharacteristically PC this morning. I thought Dykstra's Dynamiters declared it open season for rhetorical bomb-throwing. Better save your tears for Dykstra's concession speech at 8:01 p.m. Nov. 4.
ReplyDeleteThe use of those derogatory descriptive phrases in reference to Republicans or conservatives is not being either politically uncorrect or correct. It is simply a form of hate speech.
