Mayor Hexom Impressed with Governor's Letter-Writing Ability

Wow—Governor Rounds leaves Madison's cheese in the wind, and Mayor Gene Hexom says he's impressed that the Governor took the time to respond.

Am I the only person in this town who can call a spade a spade, a letdown a letdown, and a letter from the governor saying we get no stimulus money a sign that South Dakota's tenth-largest town just doesn't have much pull with Pierre?

Gene! Just say it: "Rounds! Give us a break!"

  1. Is Mayor Hexom saying that any publicity is better than no publicity? Rejection is fine as long as they're talking about it and spreading the word about 4 for 34? It reminds me of Donald Trump's phrase, "I don't care what they say about me as long as they're talking about me." Looks like we're still on the table, just pushed back to being dessert.

  2. Don't feel bad Madison, I think the Rounds administration doesn't favor the smaller towns, just focusing on Sioux Falls and Black Hills. Everyone else can get the left over scraps.

  3. No town in this state will get any "stimulus money" before the check from the feds actually clears the bank.

Even pigs know better than to fight at the trough before the slop has been poured in.
