Funny how when liberal entertainers express their political views, America's right-wingers deride them as empty-headed celebrities with no authority to speak on political matters. Yet when a recovering addict/entertainer who can buy his way out of prosecution expresses his conservative political views, he becomes archbishop of the GOP.
Well, conservatives do have a penchant for selecting actors as their leaders, don't they?
Rush isn't the archbishop of the Republican Party. He's the pope of the Republican Party.
ReplyDeleteActually comparing him to popes and archbishops is a disservice to popes and archbishops. They all have a higher authority.
ReplyDeleteRush is more like The Great and Powerful Wizard of Oz.
Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.
Rush Limbaugh is the man
ReplyDeletebehind the curtain
ReplyDeleteSeems to me that the Civil Liberties union had something to do with Rush beating the drug charges. Does the civil liberties union charge for their services? NOT
ReplyDeleteFirebird: Read the link:
ReplyDelete"Prosecutors agreed to drop the charges if he’d cough up $30,000 to cover the investigation’s costs, undergo therapy for 18 months, and submit to regular drug testing. Rush took the deal, and the case was closed."
[But thank you, Firebird for reminding us of the ACLU's commitment to justice and the Constitution.]
Explain the difference between electing an actor, Ronald Regan, who was an outstanding orator and good leader at a time when we needed a leader (Post Jimmy Carter), or rubbing shoulders and fund-raising every potential celebrity Obama can get his hands on. What's Obama going to do next, call up the winner of American Idol to congratulate them? He really believes he's that good, but in a country where you only win by 3 Million votes, that's not a clear mandate by the people. I'm still rooting for him to help our country, but all I'm seeing so far is fluff-n-stuff. As far as Limbaugh is concerned, his credibility went down the toilet years ago, along with those pills.
