The Madison City Commission hears from the Chamber of Commerce and Lake Area Improvement Corporation at tonight's meeting. The agenda refers says the appearance is "regarding special funding request." So I guess our capitalist organs are asking for even more taxpayer dollars to subsidize their efforts.
I'd offer details, but that one line is all the city agenda has to offer. No copy in the agenda packet of a letter or memo from either organization outlining what this request is about. Boy, the Chamber and LAIC sure don't like operating in the daylight, do they?
The Pavilion roof may be in trouble?

I told you a few weeks ago that I found out another contractor was putting
the city in a bind. The city owns the Pavilion so we are responsible
financially...

I believe they are formally requesting the money the City has to pitch in for that grant.
ReplyDeleteI do find it strange the City has to have somebody request money for work that's being done to a city owned building. Covering their legal bases I guess.
Cory, if you'd have listened to Chamber Director Julie Gross on my show today, you've had heard the details! KJAM 1390AM.
