Oh my: fundagelical Tea Party blogger Steve "Sibby" Sibson has filed for District 20 Senate as an Independent.
Just when I thought Gordon Howie's defeat meant I wouldn't have any really good wingnuts to kick around this fall.
Democrat Susan Thie, pay attention: Sibson's entry in the race just doubled your chances of winning. Fellow bloggers, here's the plan: we hammer Sibson for every moonbat proposal and World Net Daily karaoke speech he makes. Austrian economics, full-reserve banking, abolish the Federal Reserve—oh yeah, those are all things Mitchell and South Dakota really, really need. We point out the detachment of Sibson's agenda for practical South Dakota reality. We stir up the 9-12ers he hangs out with enough to motivate them to campaign hard for Steve and bring lots of yahoos to the polls. Every Sibson vote eats into incumbent Senator Vehle's Republican base. Every Sibson vote moves Thie one step closer to victory. Let's those Sibson voters up!
Thank you, Steve. The Democratic Majority Project just got another leg up.
You like poking that hornets nest don't you Cory...
ReplyDeleteCory,
ReplyDeleteSince Steve is now running for office, I think it is important that you lift the embargo on him.
Think about it, the more he speaks....go ahead and finish the sentence yourself.
So Cory,
ReplyDeleteWhy did you ban me in the first place? You claimed that it was your readers that wanted it, but some have been asking for my return. So what was your real reason for banning me?
Steve Sibson
Trrelvant, Steve. You're a candidate now. Put on the campaign pants and talk about the issues.
ReplyDeleteSo the real reason you banned me is because you don't want to answer my questions in regard to the issues.
ReplyDeleteAnd didn't you tell me to stay your of your district? So why are you messing with my district?
Steve Sibson
hmm. Cory, do you suppose the only reason Steve is running for office is so you'll let him comment on your blog? Steve, let it go, man. Be in the moment. Come to the present. The past doesn't make any difference.
ReplyDeleteRats! I've been tricked! :-)
ReplyDeleteCory,
ReplyDeleteCan't answer the questions?
Bill,
If the past does not matter, why have American History in school?
Another question for Cory:
ReplyDeleteWould you say Democrat president John F Kennedy was a "wingnut" and a "moonbat"?
Steve Sibson
I can answer the question. If you ask me "What are the roots of the polynomial x^3 - 6x^2 + 14x - 4?", I can answer that, too. But I can also choose not to, since the question is irrelevant to what brings folks here to read about South Dakota politics. You'd better get a platform that has more planks than your obsession with me. I'm not news... and unless you're planning to co-sponsor Turbak Berry's next Blog Control Acts, I'm not a campaign issue.
ReplyDeleteNow start campaigning for real, Sibby. I want you to take as many votes away from Vehle as you can.
Mark, I agree completely. At the very least, if I'm going to comment on a candidate for public office, that candidate should have a chance to respond. Alas, so far, he hasn't demonstrated a grasp of how to use the forum to establish his message and advance his campaign.
ReplyDeleteCory,
ReplyDeleteI asked you a campaign question in regarding JFK, not you. Now answer it. And stop with the ducking tackics, or should I say chicken tactics. You like to personally attack those you disagree with, but then you can't take the heat yourself.
Steve Sibson
Good question, Steve. Is that your campaign platform? "Vote for me because Cory doesn't care about recent SD Blog history?" Do you think you'll get a lot of votes based on that? Come on, dude. Ratchet it up. What's your reason for running?
ReplyDeleteCory,
ReplyDeleteNow you are back deleting my questions, yet again.
The previous comment was by me.
ReplyDeleteSteve Sibson
Candidate Sibson, shouldn't you be concentrating on campaigning against Senator Vehle? Your lack of focus on the issues that concern your constituents speaks ill of your readiness for public office.
ReplyDeleteCory,
ReplyDeleteDon't you think a retired banker (Vehle), the Federal Reserve, and JFK's executive order regarding the Federal Reserve is not relevant to moonbat and wingnut accusations directed toward one (Me), who thinks the privately held Federal Reserve should be abolished, and my effort to be elected as a representative of District 20 lovers of liberty...regardless of Party?
Steve Sibson
[Steve: identifying yourself as a person Cory did X to really lessens your stature as an individual and a serious candidate. It is also tiresome.]
ReplyDeleteSo you think an executive order and a federal policy form a reasonable basis for a campaign for the state legislature? Oh, my mistake: I thought your were serious about running for the State Senate and serving the people of South Dakota.
Or wait... maybe you're still a Democrat... a Lyndon LaRouche Democrat.
But by all means, follow this same tack with your District 20 voters. Turn every public appearance and every audience question into a discourse on the Federal Reserve. Let me know how that works out.
"Or wait... maybe you're still a Democrat... a Lyndon LaRouche Democrat."
ReplyDeleteCory, like I said, I was a JFK Democrat who also voted for Reagan. LaRouche is a pro-FDR socialist. That fits your agenda not mine. It is due to people like you that makes JFK too conservative to even represent the GOP in today's political environment.
And a state Senator has no authority to abolish the Federal Reserve. It was you that brought that issue up on this post. You are an intelligent person. Unfortunately you lack wisdom and misapply truth to create lies and false accusations.
If you want the ban issue to go away, then apologize to your readers for making that error. Are you capable of dealing with truth?
