Occasionally, I will mention my job, my public service activities, and other aspects of my life to offer my readers a better perspective on where I'm coming from. But to be clear:
"The views that I express represent my own opinions, based on my own education and experience, not the opinions of any other entity, party, or group to which I belong. I give these opinions in my individual capacity, as a private citizen, and as someone who gives a good gosh darn about his community, his country, and the truth."
In other words: my blog, my words, my point of view. Enjoy!
Pastor Steve Hickey gives me good guidance this morning. The District 9 House candidate helps me find the ballot order drawn by Secretary of State Chris Nelson. If you go to the Candidate List on the Secretary's "Upcoming Election" page, then scroll all the way to the right, you will see the numbers that tell you the order in which candidates will appear on the South Dakota ballot. Evidently the earth's magnetic field aligned just right to turn the luck of the draw in favor of Fox News viewership:
Pastor Hickey cites some inside baseball from campaign academy: he says first or second position tends to give a candidate 1 to 3 extra percentage points—an interesting quantification of the inattentive voters. Golly: that must mean Constitution Party candidate for Secretary of State Lori Stacey will finish November 2 with 1 to 3 percent of the vote!
