Dr. Thurman Says Rest Up During Christmas -- There's Work Ahead

The SD Blogosphere is lighting up like a Christmas tree -- quite lovely, that soothing glow from our screens on these long winter nights.

The Madville Times finds useful visions of Christmas everywhere, even from the somewhat pagan Reverend Billy. One fine faithful reader sends this poem by theologian and mentor to Martin Luther King Dr. Howard Thurman:

When the star in the sky is gone,
When the Kings and Princes are home,
When the shepherds
are back with their flocks,
The work of Christmas begins --
To find the lost
To heal the broken
To feed the hungry
To release the prisoner
To teach the nations
To bring Christ to all
To make music in the heart.

--Howard Thurman, "The Work of Christmas"
