Here's your answer: Senate Bill 18! This legislation would put an end to the retire-rehire practice enjoyed by so many past state employees, including former Board of Regents exec R. Tad Perry (who now wants to become a legislator—wonder how he'd vote on SB 18?).
Keep an eye out for more resignations: the committee on retirement laws considers this bill sufficiently urgent as to declare an emergency and set an enactment date of April 1, 2010. The days of having your cake and eating it too may be short.
