Hey, political junkies! Want to see Hillary's riot in DC against following the rules and keeping one's word and for crass self-interest? Watch the Democratic National Committee's Rules and Bylaws meeting live on C-Span now!
--By the way, I'm listening to a pro-Clinton caller saying she is ashamed of the Demcoratic Party and will vote for John McCain in November. Baloney. That's bluff and bluster of the moment, as desperate attempt to put a gun to the head of the DNC to get Hillary's way. Thinking Dems won't pull that trigger. Stand Obama up next to McCain in November, and Dems will realize that voting for a continuation of the Bush-Cheney regime is not only a childish and futile gesture of support for Clinton's failed bid but a flat bad move for the country. Is satisfying your need to stick your tongue out at the winner really worth four more years of disastrous Republican policy from the White House? Talk to me on November 4.
--Wow: as Howard Dean just told the crowd, recalling what Al Gore said to him back in 2004: "This is not about you; this is about your country."

I am not sold on either Hillary or Obama so what is one supposed to do? I have to vote, otherwise I have no right to complain!
ReplyDeleteThere are negatives to both. The one thing I am impressed with is Hillary has actually talked about what she will do. The fact that she said she wants to be held accountable for her campaign promises kind of struck a chord with me. That way she knows if she doesn't follow through, she is out.
Someone either posted here or on another blog, but they are concerned that the Obama would cause a racial divide between the nation. ???? Any thoughts on this one?
Obama's candidacy won't cause any new divide; it will only bring to the forefront a discussion about the divide that is there... and discussion is a good thing. An Obama Presidency will be an even better thing.
ReplyDeleteAnd the DNC following its own rules and holding state parties to them is a pretty good thing, too. South Dakota has always followed the rules; so can Florida and Michigan.
I was watching CNN last nite and they had a story about Obama and how he won his first state senate race in 1996. Ther was no other candidate on the ballot because he got them kicked off! He didn't win because the people of Chicago thought he was the best candidate, he won because of a technicality.
ReplyDeleteWhat's your opinion??

ReplyDeleteSorry.. it didn't copy right the first time.
Ok.. for some reason my link won't work. Go to CNN and there is a story called "Obama played hardball in his first Chicago Campaign. Sorry Corey. Didn't mean to mess up 2 times in a row. :-(
ReplyDeleteNo sweat -- the link worked for me:

Ask Tom Dempster about the importance of doing your petitions right. Obama couldn't have driven those other candidates off the ballot if they'd done their petitions right in the first place. I'm surprised any Chicago politicians were dumb enough to leave themselves vulnerable to a simple challenge like that. If you run for office, you don't submit petitions with invalid signatures.
The part that bothered me is he got so nit picky in that some signatures were valid, but were printed instead of written. I still haven't made up my mind one way or the other. Just wanted to get input from other people. Don't get me wrong, Hillary has her negatives to. I guess I am trying to figure out which one has the fewest.
ReplyDeleteHow about this for a negative: Lyndon LaRouche is backing Clinton. Ron Wieczorek and his fellow SD-LaRouchians were at yesterday's Clinton rally in Madison wearing Hillary buttons and shirts and handing out their LaRouche lit. (Psst: Obama and McCain are both tools of the Anglo-Dutch financial cabal -- pass it on! ;-) )
