Back from camping, I'm pleased to discover that Madison's Dairy Queen again blew the doors off fundraising for Children's Miracle Network on Miracle Treat Day last Thursday, August 7.
8,000? 10,000? Try 12,347 Blizzards sold in one day!
Elisa Sand at the Madison Daily Leader and Matt Hendrickson at KJAM give details:
- Half of the sales came from DeLon's coupons. That's still a staggering 6,000+ Blizzards sold (and most likely consumed) on August 7.
- This year's Miracle Treat Day sales beat last year's by over 5,000. That beat last year's increase of what many of us thought was an unbeatable 3,000+. When Madison is working for a good cause, maybe the sky really is the limit.
Matt H. also covers the news on his blog, The Jackrabbit's Den. Matt had another stake in this challenge, since he promised DeLon that if Miracle Treat Day sales beat 10,000, Matt would shave his head. Stay tuned: Matt promises pix!
Matt did indeed allow his head to be shaved, and I mean shaved down the skin. He resembles Uncle Fester of the Adam's Family or maybe Brock Lesnar's smaller brother.
ReplyDeletePerhaps we need a Jenny Craig outlet in the old Masonic Temple Building next to the DQ to help wean us off the Blizzards and prepare us for KJAM's Community Challenge. Nothing tastes better than a Blizzard on a hot summer evening.
And Goeman didn't even bring the Turtle Wax like he was supposed to! LOL
