Senator Johnson Takes "Windshield Tour" of Madison Friday

Hey, PP, still wondering where Senator Johnson's tour will take him? Come to Madison Friday: KJAM reports the Senator will be taking a "windshield tour" of Madison on the 15th. He'll see DSU, the Heartland Technology Center, Highway 34 (which the locals want to expand to four lanes), Farmers Ag Center, Lake Madison (what, no Lake Herman?!?), and the Lakeview Industrial Park.

KJAM refers to the visit as a "stop," although there's no word on whether the Senator and his entourage will actually get out from behind the windshield and stop to visit with folks on the street or maybe even break out some barbecue for local supporters, as he apparently is doing for supporters today in Sioux Falls (or so says KJAM).

Barbecue: a fitting repast for a state whose main criterion in selecting folks for Washington appears to be the amount of pork they can bring home.

  1. Windshield tour???!!! Now I've heard everything!

Windshield, curtain, carefully scripted meetings and interviews. All the same. No actual contact with those he wants to employ him! Way to interview for a job! Keep it up and he will soon be out of a job!

  2. We're a very understanding state, but I'm hearing frustration from a lot of people who are Tim Johnson supporters. They want him to appear and participate, even with his current speech and movement problems. Even his TV ads are using old footage from before his medical problems, trying to make everything look just fine to the public who won't get to see him or hear his views on the issues. Too bad.

What do you mean by a lot? sounds fairly arbitrary to me.
