Good Old Days: Car Racing at the Lake County Fair

A RealMadison.org feature for local history buffs: see my notes on Gale Pifer's MDL essay on Samuel Barger and car racing in Lake County. Among the surprises I learned from Pifer: Lake County once had a full county fair, complete with auto racing! I like our current 4-H Achievement Days, but a county fair seems a much grander spectacle. Read up, tell me what you think!
