My Keloland colleagues Todd Epp and Cory Heidelberger don't like corporations. They think all our stuff should be provided free of charge by fairies [Ken Blanchard, "Alphabet Soup Ballot Picks, South Dakota Politics, 2008.11.02].
Professor Blanchard is absolutely right. It would be a spectacular improvement in our standard of living if fairies provided all of our stuff free of charge. We'd all have more time to read great books (and Dr. Blanchard's blog), rake leaves, explore space, and vote!
Unfortunately, Fairies Local 802 remains on strike against us skeptical humans. So until we can work out a deal with Tinkerbell and Associates, we'll have to settle for goods and services from corporations, whose power we can hope to at least check to permit the continued growth and prosperity of small local businesses.
