Don't Trust Spellcheck: Sorry to Rain on Your Parade...

I receive an e-mail this afternoon. The correspondent makes a polite request, then ends with this line:

Thank you for your time and I am sorry for the incontinence.

Oh my. And I thought that puddle was snow melting.

  1. This is hilarious. Thanks for my laugh for the day!

  2. I'll use this on an editor sometime.

  3. Not only can you have problems with usage, but with pronunciation. We had a pastor from North Dakota who had a little bit of an accent and had trouble with his "ou" pronunciations. When he gave the benediction the first 2 or 3 times, it sounded like "May the Lord lift up his continence upon you, and grant you peace."

He soon changed it to "May the Lord look upon you with favor.....

  4. "abotu Tablet PCs as well."
Maybe Blogger should have a better spell check....just got to give you a little jab!

  5. Blogger.com has great spellcheck; I just never use it! ;-) Thanks for the proofreading, Anon: correction made!
