Don't Trust Spellcheck: Sorry to Rain on Your Parade...

I receive an e-mail this afternoon. The correspondent makes a polite request, then ends with this line:

Thank you for your time and I am sorry for the incontinence.

Oh my. And I thought that puddle was snow melting.

  3. Not only can you have problems with usage, but with pronunciation. We had a pastor from North Dakota who had a little bit of an accent and had trouble with his "ou" pronunciations. When he gave the benediction the first 2 or 3 times, it sounded like "May the Lord lift up his continence upon you, and grant you peace."

    He soon changed it to "May the Lord look upon you with favor.....
