I know some folks up in the Williams development would rather not see "undesirables" infiltrate their posh neighborhood with houses and outbuildings that don't rise to their discriminating standards. So what's the covenant say about the oh-so-tasteful Bears ice shack at 810 NW 11th, a block up from the site of the future Habitat house? I don't think that big orange C quite matches the siding....

Moderation is necessary. Even the man on the corner told me today his house needs work. But after spending the day in Brookings I am so impressed. Most houses are well kept with obvious pride in their downtown. We need to clean ourselves up a bit.
