Matt Hendrickson believes that the fact that some of us bloggers have not wasted blogspace on David Letterman's crude jokes negates the argument that objectification of women is bad. Matt Hendrickson is wrong.
All I have to say is this:
Todd Epp is a friend and fellow blogger. It matters more when he does something wrong.

So a friend of mine made this rap a few years back, and I have to tell you
I have friends over the years who went there and tell the same boring
stories, LOL.

You are missing the point.
ReplyDeleteI'm not debating if objectifying women is wrong or not. I'm objecting to you and the rest of the blogosphere's blatant double-standard in this whole situation.
Letterman said something that was blatantly offensive. Not only that, it was aimed at a non-public person (i.e. Sarah Palin's daughters). THAT makes it more offensive than some pics of "babes."
Do I go to Todd's site and drool over these pictures? No. To be honest, I really don't pay that much attention to them. I go on there to read the articles--what a concept!
If you guys (and gals) are going to be the self-appointed "morality police", then you better learn to "call it both ways". Unless demeaning the family of a Republican politician doesn't count.
By the way, if this is the way you and the other left-wing bloggers gang up and treat your friends, I'd hate to see how you treat enemies!
Also, I don't dislike you... I just think this is poor bit of sportsmanship.
BTW, two words... Camille Paglia
ReplyDeleteWell, Matt missed the point. Anyone else care to try?
