Skip the Slush -- Take My Survey!

It's the weekend, the roads are still icy, and it's still windy and chilly. Why not cuddle up on the couch with a good Internet survey about e-government?

As promised, I've put together an online survey on Internet use and the Legislative Research Council (LRC) website. Have no fear -- I'm not collecting any personally identifiable information; I'm just asking questions about how you use the Internet, where you get your news, and what features you like (and might like to see) on our state legislature's website. I also have some questions for legislators about their use of the legislative website and their "knowledge management" needs and practices.

The survey is a mix of multiple choice, numerical ranking, and short-answer items. Keep your answers brief, and you can probably finish the survey in under five minutes. But if you want to go long on your answers tothe questions about how you use the LRC website and what the Legislature could do to make it better, feel free to write as much as you like!

Now this survey is the same one I've given to some folks in person on paper, so if you've already filled one of those surveys out, thank you! You don't have to sweat going online and doing it again. (Plus, it would goof up my results if you did!)

I'll leave the survey up all month, maybe longer. I'm curious about what you all have to say. And don't worry: this survey isn't for marketing; it's noble science. The results will be incorporated in my ongoing DSU research on e-government in South Dakota.

So what are you waiting for? Take the survey! Tell your friends, get them to take it, too. In social science as in democracy, the more the merrier.
