The Lake Herman Sanitary District appears to be in for another three years of a dull status quo. In an absolute repudiation of anti-incumbent fervor, no one but the incumbent, current Lake Herman Sanitary District presiding officer Cory Allen Heidelberger (that's me) filed a nominating petition for that office by today's deadline.
See, Larry, that's why I couldn't run against Senator Thune this year. I still have my lake to protect from the encroachment of urbanization and expensive wastewater systems with moving parts.
Unless a surprise petition reaches me by registered mail with a Wednesday postmark, I will preside for another three years over one of the least active and least necessary taxing entities in the state of South Dakota. Ah, government.
